Fran graduated from the Chelsea School of Chiropody in 1987. She left the NHS in 2011 and now works solely in private practice. Her main interests in podiatry include diabetes, wound care, nail surgery and biomechanics.
She has completed a Certificate in Diabetes Care and various specialist courses. Fran also provides private home visits in and around the Chelmsford area. Outside of work Frans time is spent looking after her family and all that entails. She is an active member of Springfield Park Baptist Church and the Chair of Governors at Lawford Mead Junior School.
Heather Norburn HCPC no. CH10839
Heather is an HPC Registered Podiatrist. The Health Professions Council is the government body that regulates professions such as Podiatrists, Physiotherapists etc. Heather is qualified to use local anaesthetics in her treatments and can dispense some prescription only medicines to patients.
Formal Qualifications
Heather gained a BSc. in Podiatry from Salford University and subsequently a Post Graduate Diploma from Edinburgh and Brighton Universities. She has received additional training in specialist anaesthetic techniques including ankle blocks which numb the whole foot. She has also had training in prescribing Prescription Only Medicines. Both of these skills are recognised by the HPC. In addition she has specialised in children’s feet becoming the lead specialist in Provide – the NHS primary care trust for Essex. She was the primary author of the guidelines for the treatment of children’s feet which was adopted as a national standard. As well as her expertise in children she has taken an interest in adult conditions including biomechanics and therapies for active patients along with traditional treatment for other conditions.
Professional Bodies
As well as her HPC registration Heather is a member of the Royal College of Podiatry. Among other benefits this provides full public liability, malpractice and public liability insurance. She is also a member of the College of Podiatry and a member of the Federation of Small Businesses.
